Club Championship
Overall Rules
- There is a men’s and women’s championship.
- The points for a competitor’s top eight race finishes within each age group are scored toward the championship.
- In the event multiple people are tied in points at the end of the season the tiebreaker system will be based on the highest average age-grade percentage. This will be calculated by adding each competitor’s top eight age-grade finish percentages, then dividing by 8 for an overall average percentage. If a competitor does not compete in 8 races their race aggregate total is still divided by eight. Competitor’s age on 14 February 2009 is used in the championship.
- Club members MUST volunteer for two Club Championship races to qualify for an award. Actual service is required for volunteering. If an event is cancelled, another club-sponsored event must be selected to volunteer if the 2-event requirement has not been met.
- Only the primary distance qualifies for race points (competing in alternate distances on the same date do not earn points with the exception of the Jack Mortland on 3 May 2009).
Race Competitor Points
Finishing place within the age group among club members determines points awarded for the race. For example, if you finish in 3rd place in your age group but the first or second place finisher is not a club member you will be awarded 1st place points. The bottom line is only club members compete for championship points.
